I today sadly learned of Mr. Greening's January 24, 2006 death. Knight-Auchmoody handled funeral arrangements.
I attended the University of Tulsa with Al, who was one of the nicest people I have met. I saw Al only once since graduation, and that was during a 1950s International petroleum Exposition in Tulsa. But I often thought of him, and once, during the 60s, we talked via telephone.
Albeit belatedly, please pass on my sincere condolences to his survivors if you can. He was a dear man much liked by all who knew him at TU.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Henri. I am currently an Engineer with Otis Elevator in Bloomfield Connecticut, soon to retire in March of this year. I started with Otis in July of 1964 at 260 Eleventh Ave. in New York City. My very first assignment was in Otis Engineering’s Motor & Generator Department where I met Henri. He was a great mentor and taught me the “ropes”. I consider him to be one of the best engineers that I ever had the pleasure to work with. His practical knowledge and manufacturing sense solved many of the rotating equipment design problems in our day to day work. I can still recall his friendly good nature and outstanding personality. His stories about his time in the service with the Swedish military were fascinating to me, and being a history buff, I was absorbed with his stories of life “back home”.
I remember that Henri was originally from the island of Gotland and coincidently, while on a business trip for Otis in the late 1990’s visiting Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in Sweden, I met an ABB staff member who grew up with Henri in his home town. Talk about a small world! Unfortunately, his name escapes me now.
After Otis moved from NYC to Mahwah New Jersey, Henri and I went in different directions within Otis. Soon after, I left Otis for a period of ten years and upon my return in 1988, I unexpectedly met Henri at our Bloomington Indiana facility. It was an pleasure to see him again after so many years. We caught up on “old times”.
I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and in passing say that Henri was a real gentleman, an excellent engineer, an outstanding teacher and a fun person to work with. I, like many others, feel “blessed” to have known him. I will always be grateful for these memories. God bless.

Dear Aber Family,
I have just learned of John's passing .
I knew him from his work in Malone, specifically when he represented Franklin County as Attorney for the Child Support Enforcement Unit. I was an investigator for that Unit. What I remember and cherish most was his sense of humor. Not only was he an excellent attorney, but he could
also find the funny side of what under normal circumstances, could be a very difficult job. And he was very protective of us investigators. When you went to court with John, you felt his guidance and his hand at the helm.
I only wish I had known of his illness and been able to drop a note from time to time. But he leaves us with many kind thoughts...And is one of those individuals who will always be remember with a smile. I am grateful that I got to know him in some small way and join in your feelings of loss. Sometimes we never realize the impact we leave on people's lives...
I hope you find comfort in knowing he touched many people and spread much good in his lifetime.

I am deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of my dear friend, Tom Brady. When visiting with him recently, and although in much pain, he was in good spirits, and yearned for day when he could return home. Tom was a loyal, knowledgeable kind, gentle soul, who always gave his fellow human beings the benefit of the doubt. This proved to be an asset in both his military and civilian life. Though he be hurt by others, as we all are in life, he always managed to speak kindly of them, saying, "I don't understand why they thought or did that". I only knew Larry for 14 years but I can truely say he was one of the best friends I ever had . Its still unbelievable to me that a wonderful person like Johnny left us in such a horrible way. I got to know him when he was here staying with Tommy and Tish and he was always smiling and happy. The boys loved to be around Johnny he would play video games with them for hours and take them to fun places. My mom and dad had him paint their living room and thought he was very polite and a great happy guy. You hear about these tragedies on the news and think its just another day, you don't realize the affect it has on the family until you are close to it. I hope in time you can remember only on the happy memories and not dwell on the horrific ending to such a wonderful life. Remember he loved you all and justice will be served.

Tom was a great teacher, friend and confidant. In the nearly 20 years that Tom and I worked together at Rondout Valley Middle School I always knew I could go to him for advice and a good laugh. Last week we conveyed to Tom that we would miss him when he retired at the end of the school year. It seems unfair that his life ended before he could enjoy what he'd earned after all the years of dedication and service to Rondout but I'm certain that he is fly-fishing in Heaven with those who have gone before him. I have many great memories of my Aunt Susie. I enjoyed visiting your family when you
lived in Port Jervis. I use to look forward to reading all the Sears catalogues. Your Mom
always made the best pasta. She used a cheese that, I am still looking for. I remember
the winter sled riding and picnic at High Point, Uncle Fay was there, but not his family. I
remember the times we went swimming, near a bridge. I remember your Mom sending
us out to get soda, out of the cooler, in your Grandfathers store. Lots and lots of good
memories.

I wish we all could of been closer; but for one reason or another it was not meant to be.

I e-mail my brother last night to let him know about your Mom. I am sure you would be
surprised to see us both. We both have Gramma's white hair and lots of it. If possible
Franks is whiter than mine.

My Mother will be 90 in June, and it has been a hard winter for her. She still lives in her
home and is doing as well as can be expected. She also is deaf in one ear, since birth, and
now has macular degeneration, family condition.

I was glad to see that Marie's son has posted on Ancestry.com, this is how I found out about
your Mom. Again my deepest sympathy to all of you on your loss.

So much sadness for this family in such a short period of time. Betty and I started school together and through it all maintained a close friendship. I always called her Betsy and she said I was the only one to do that. We were a close class in school and even after graduation. But when I left home we didn`t see very much of the Getz`s except for our annual vacation trip to Eldred.
By the time retirement rolled around, we made the best of it traveling and camping in our "rig`s". Betty`s Mom and Dad and the two of them came to visit us when we lived in the state of Washington in Edgar`s VW Beattle. Betty loved Eldred and never found any other place to call home. Betty had her fathers sense of humor and her mothers graciousness. Susan and her children, family and friends, need our thoughts and prayers at this time.
