JOSEPH MARSHALL III

My husband Keith and I are the owners of Carmine’s Restaurant in the Town of Greenville. For quite a few years now, Joe was a repeat customer every Tuesday at 4:00 pm. If you went by the restaurant at 3:30, you would see Joe in his car reading his newspaper waiting for us to open. He would come in, hand over his very own Guinness glass for a pint of Guinness and sit at the same table every week. Joe always ordered the fish special, and for that reason, our daughter gave him the nickname Fisherman Joe! At the end of dinner, no one will ever forget “coffee black, no spoon”! It was nothing but a pleasure getting to know Fisherman Joe and listening to his stories of the past. Tuesdays have not been the same. Joe has and will continue to be missed by my husband and I, our two daughters and the entire Carmine’s Staff who had the honor of serving him and most importantly had the honor of getting to know him. Sincerely, Lisa O’Connor

I am so sorry to hear about Vera's passing. I am so glad I spoke to her a few weeks ago. Both your Mom and Dad hold a special place in my heart. Wish I could be there to pay my respect. Now she is with Joe looking down on all of us. God Bless you all, Jeff Brewster

TO THE FAMILY OF JOSEPH MARSHALL lll

Joe and Dot were my neighbors for many years. They offered much advice on child rearing and we spent many fine summer days either sitting on their driveway or on my front porch. In later years, my sons and I were often the ambulance crew as we transported Joe. Most recently, only about three weeks ago, we found him in Kmart, in pain, and my son Ben drove him home. Joe is back to his first home now, to his beloved Dot and grands that passed. I can see Dot now scolding him once again and imagine him turning that deaf ear to her and making that quizzical face. It was a pleasure knowing Joe and Dot, and our deepest condolences. Ann, Ken, Kyle, Jay, Ben and Travis Steimle.

TO THE FAMILY OF RUSSELL SAUER

Members of the Sauer Family, I was sad to read of the passing of Russ. I had the opportunity of playing with him in the sax section of Buzz Neubert’s band in the 1980’s. He was a gifted musician and a pleasure to listen to. I don’t think people realized how talented he was. Aside from his musical talents, he was always a very humble man in my dealings with him. I will always remember his clarinet rendition of “ Begin the Beguine” I’m sure he’ll find many of his former jazz partners in heaven’s musician’s union. My deepest sympathies to his entire family. TO THE FAMILY OF JUNE TINSMAN

Dear Bill and Family: Our heartfelt thoughts are with you during this difficult time. June was a beautiful person, and our community is a lesser place without her presence. Working together with "Doc" all those years was a professional privilege, and knowing June and her warm smile was a personal life benefit for both of us. She was a sweetheart. A real lady. She will be missed by the many people lucky enough to have known her. Diana and Sy Wiener
